Number and counting worksheets for preschool: objects first
Help children connect quantities to written numbers with printable counting activities and simple everyday objects.

Count real objects before writing numbers
Set out a few blocks or pencils. Ask your child to touch each object once while counting aloud. Then find the matching number on a worksheet. This connects a quantity to its written symbol instead of treating number writing as a copying exercise.
Choose a comfortable level
Start with small groups that your child can count confidently. Introduce larger groups gradually, and let them move objects as they count. The 300+ number and counting bonus provides printable pages to choose from; not every page is right for every stage.
A simple parent-led routine
Count together, try one worksheet task, then finish with a real-world example such as counting crayons back into their box. Keep the session brief and stop when attention fades. Mistakes are a chance to recount together, not a reason to race through the sheet.
Print and reuse thoughtfully
Print a single A4 test page before a batch. Use Fit to printable area and check that picture groups remain readable. Keep unused PDFs saved on your device so you can choose a new page when your child is ready.
